If you’re launching a new website and looking for inspiration, I rounded up some of my favorite Showit website examples to give you an idea of what’s possible for your own creative or service-based business.
As a creative, you want your website to showcase the heart behind your brand and your unique personality. The perfect website strikes just the right balance between positioning you as an expert and emotionally connecting with your target audience.
I’m a Showit Design Partner, and I specialize in custom websites and template customization services. From personality-filled personal brands to creative small businesses, here are some of my favorite Showit websites that I’ve worked on.
Heirloom Photo Company is a brand photographer based in Kansas City. The Founder, Rita Clark, has been capturing branding photography, headshots, events, and portraits since 2006.
Her photography business has served hundreds of clients, but Rita felt that her online presence was getting outdated and needed a new site. So, she got in touch with Rose Benedict Design (AKA, me! 👋).
I rolled up my sleeves and got straight to work on the Heirloom Photo Company’s custom website. I incorporated a few original custom coding pieces into this Showit website, such as the typewriter effect at the top of the home page and the rotating logos in the “Trusted By” section.
Rita also wanted to show examples of how her work looks when it’s mocked up on phones, iPads, and laptops, so I incorporated that cascading down on certain pages of her new website.
As a web designer, one of my biggest goals was to show off the Heirloom Photo Company’s extensive portfolio of work. This is why the entire site heavily incorporates rotating images. This way, you can quickly see a lot of work as you explore the website! I also filmed Rita video tutorials on how to easily swap the photos out by herself in the future if needed.
Showit is a drag-and-drop website builder, which allowed me to easily incorporate infographics and typographic collages on the Heirloom Photo Company’s services pages to visually communicate important concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
Rita is in love with her new unique brand and website, and I must admit I am, too! This is one of my favorite Showit website examples! 😍
Creative professionals always end up being some of my favorite clients, which is why I was so excited when Sloan, a live wedding painter, inquired about creating a new custom website. Based out of Denver, Colorado, Sloan’s mission is to capture life’s finest moments for her clients at weddings across the United States.
She wanted her commitment to telling love stories in an artful way to be reflected through a refined, peaceful, and eclectic Showit website.
One of Showit’s biggest strengths is how easy it is to bring creative visions to life. Painted by Sloan’s new site is rich with asymmetrical layouts and custom touches like the photo frames that make things feel a little more visually interesting.
The Showit platform also makes it possible to add small details that make a big difference in the user experience on your website. For Painted by Sloan, I created a customized top navigation menu that changes depending on where you are on the page.
As a creative entrepreneur, Sloan loved how it elevated her website’s look and made the experience of using it more custom and special.
Barefoot Royalty Photography is a wedding, elopement, and couples photographer based near Savannah, Georgia. Christine captures heirloom photos of the romantic and madly in love on all kinds of occasions from date nights and anniversaries to elopements and intimate weddings.
She wanted a new website that conveyed a high-end, romantic, and coastal-inspired look, connected with her target audience, and showcased her amazing work.
Showit is one of the best website builders for photographers because it allows graphic designers to get truly creative. Barefoot Royalty Photography website features beautiful, dainty, and intricate hand-drawn illustrations throughout for an elegant and curated look.
Another crucial aspect of making this website successful was featuring full gallery pages for each featured wedding (or elopement) instead of just showing a few snapshots from each wedding. I created custom gallery pages like this one to showcase the full story of each couple’s day.
The bottom of each gallery page also allows you to quickly navigate from one gallery to another, so you can quickly scan through all of the galleries to get a sense of what types of photos/editing styles would be delivered to you as a client! This site is definitely one of my favorite Showit website examples.
Rachel Vaught Art is a live wedding painter and custom art shop. She is located in Cleveland, Ohio, but serves clients nationwide. She needed a new Showit website that not only showcased her services and art style but also directed her website visitors to her shop where they can buy original acrylic paintings and art prints.
Creative business owners sometimes feel hesitant about investing in a Showit website if they have a shop because Showit was originally created for service-based businesses.
For creative entrepreneurs who also sell physical or digital products, Showit can integrate with Shopify Starter (or WooCommerce, depending on the size of the shop) to create a small but powerful shop. This is exactly what I created for Rachel!
Ohana Homes is run by Mercedes, a realtor and real estate broker based in Portland, Oregon. Mercedes helps people feel empowered, educated, and confident about buying and selling property so they can build generational wealth.
Many of Ohana Homes’s clients are first-time buyers/sellers, so Mercedes wanted her Showit website design to communicate the feelings of easygoing and approachable comfort.
This website features custom branding and hand-drawn illustrations with an earthy and chill vibe. The website layout is inviting and easy to navigate. Asymmetrical layouts, high-quality images of beautiful homes, and rooted design all make the Ohana Homes design feel cozy and positive.
Lou is the Founder of The Queer Corner and an online therapist serving Queer young adults across the state of Washington. They take a thoughtful and compassionate therapy approach to help people heal from personal trauma and pain so they can find strength, growth, and ultimately, joy.
The Queer Corner embraces the outdoors, the Queer community, and quirkiness, so Lou wanted their website to be warm, personal, and adventurous.
This website wasn’t a custom website design. Instead, I customized a Showit website template for Lou, which comes with a more affordable cost while still allowing to include curated elements. In The Queer Corner’s case, it was incorporating the pride color palette and nature-focused imagery.
If you’re not ready to create a new website from scratch, Showit website templates might be a fantastic option for you! I sometimes customize Showit templates for my clients. If you need help with that, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Brooke Lynn is a wedding photographer based in Elkton, Maryland. She specializes in capturing the genuine connection between two people — whether at their proposal, elopement, or wedding celebration.
When she inquired, she was looking for a natural and earthy yet refined and minimal aesthetic that showcased her work on a beautiful Showit website that was easy to use.
For this website, I created a lovely feminine aesthetic while clearly outlining BrookeLynn Photography‘s services and taking advantage of the Showit SEO. The final result was natural and simple with a sprinkle of sophistication to connect with Brooke’s ideal clients.
Saysan is a virtual therapist based in Seattle, Washington. She creates a down-to-earth, informal, and even fun environment for her clients to explore and develop through challenging life transitions. She wanted her Showit website to be colorful, bold, playful, and unexpected to intentionally mirror her modern approach to therapy.
To create The Relatable Therapist‘s website, we used a Showit template that I customized to fit Saysan’s vision and cool branding. I also optimized the Showit website template to be HIPAA-compliant, which is an important consideration for therapist websites!
Anthony Pope is a real estate agent in Columbus, Ohio who offers tailored services to fit his clients’ home buying and selling needs.
He had a vision for his Showit website to exude a luxurious and sophisticated feeling without being too stuffy. He wanted the people who landed on his website to immediately understand how much he cared about providing excellent service, so I made sure that his branding and design reflected his commitment to quality!
Devin Tormey is a live wedding painter in Massachusetts serving couples in Boston, New England, and all over the United States. She creates heartfelt, handcrafted, heirloom-quality live wedding paintings that hold treasured memories for years to come.
Devin wanted her Showit website to establish an earthy yet sophisticated aesthetic to align better with the high-end direction that she wanted to take her small business in and connect better with her target client base.
Using blues, greens, and custom illustrations, I created a dreamy and artisanal custom website that showcased Devin’s unique brand and personality.
I’m a Showit Design Partner, so it won’t come as a surprise when I say that Showit stands out as a more creative and visually stunning website builder that’s also much easier to use than WordPress.
