Brand and Showit Website Design for a Photographer in Georgia | Barefoot Royalty Photography

When Christine of Barefoot Royalty Photography reached out for a Showit website design for her photography business, she was initially interested in rebranding and moving her website away from Wix. She wanted to create a better user experience, as well as increase the sophistication of her branding, increase her pricing, improve her client guides, and align her brand more closely with the high-end clients she was looking to attract.

In our project, we did all of that and more! Here’s a more detailed look into the project, including its goals, process, visuals, and outcome.

Project Goals

Christine was in search of a Showit web designer for her photography business, and by working together, we developed these project goals:

1. Craft a brand and website experience that feels romantic and whimsical, and appeals to high-end clients
2. Include more details on the website to guide potential clients through the process, and answer their questions in a Frequently Asked Questions section
3. Develop welcome guides for couples portraits and wedding photography clients, so that the guides are easy to send out as soon as a client officially signs the contract
4. Update the featured galleries to strategically align with ideal clients and business goals
5. Attract couples and weddings/engagements, and provide information stating that family photography is not a specialty
6. Show up in searches for “Savannah wedding photographer” in Google, as well as similar searches

Without developing project goals, it can sometimes be hard to know if a project has been successful. So this is a crucial step before the design phase even begins!

The Process

Like every brand and Showit website design project I work on for photographers (or any creative small business!), the process looks quite similar. It first involved a detailed questionnaire, and after that, Christine and I met for a Brand Strategy Workshop where we talked in a lot more detail about her goals, branding visuals, positioning, and ideal clients. This step can’t be skipped, because it’s the foundation for everything to follow!

After the Brand Strategy Workshop, I sent a creative direction and mood board for approval, and began the brand identity design. The brand identity design looks romantic and whimsical, and totally on-brand for serving her high-end clients!

Once the branding was completed, the Showit website design for her photographer website began! I worked with Christine to focus her website on a clean and smooth client experience, as well as focusing the website copy on information her potential clients are looking to find and read. After that, the website launched and the world could finally see!

Project Outcomes

1. I designed a brand and website experience that feels romantic and whimsical, and appeals to high-end clients with so many beautiful little bespoke touch points
2. Christine and I added important details on the website to guide potential clients through the process, and answered their questions in a Frequently Asked Questions section
3. I designed welcome guides for couples portraits and wedding photography clients, so that the guides are easy to send out as soon as a client officially signs the contract
4. Christine and I updated the featured galleries to strategically align with ideal clients and business goals, and removed anything that did not fit this vision
5. Christine and I focused the website language only around couples and weddings/engagements, in order to attract clients that are a good fit, and repel clients that are not a good fit
6. I strategically added basic SEO to each page in order to include keywords such as “Savannah Wedding Photographer” for much better results when a potential client searches for her business on Google
